NEATH Port Talbot College has been given more than £400,000 to carry out building improvements.

Thanks to the Assembly, a grant of £622,955 will also be shared between the schools of Neath and Port Talbot.

Neath AM Gwenda Thomas said: "This is excellent news for schools and Neath Port Talbot College. A grant of £622,955 will be shared between the schools of Neath and Port Talbot, and Neath Port Talbot College will receive £449,796.59."

A college spokeswoman said: "The allocation will be used to address some of the backlog maintenance work, along with legislative work and bringing our facilities up to scratch so they are DDA compliable."
