Dylan said: “I want to do something as my grandad was suffering from heart problems for 10 years and it was the British Heart Foundation (BHF) which helped him. I am doing this Hallowe’en event to raise money for the charity that helped grandad.”

Dylan’s grandmother, Marion Jones, 69, of Pembrey, said she was proud of her grandson’s enthusiasm to raise cash for the charity which meant so much to him.

“He was 4 when his grandfather died, it’s coming up to six years ago,” she said. “You are never quite sure how much they remember, but of course he remembers his grandad. And it’s a nice thought to raise money for charity.”

Mrs Jones added that Dylan’s efforts would have made his grandfather proud.

She said: “Vincent would be really pleased with what Dylan is doing.

“He used to follow his grandad around. They had a good relationship.”

She added: “Dylan hatched the idea of a fundraiser because he liked the idea of doing something for the charity and his grandad.”

The party will be held at the Ashburnham Hotel, Pembrey, on Monday, October 29, from 5pm to 7pm. There will be a Hallowe’en disco, games and a family quiz. Tickets cost £2.50 and are available from the hotel.

The DJ from Swiss Valley, Llanelli — Jonny’s mobile discos — was so touched by the story that he decided to offer his services for free.

Dylan, of Argoed Crescent, Trimsaran, is now gathering raffle prizes for the event.

Fundraising and volunteer manager for BHF in West Wales, Jayne Lewis, said: “I would like to thank Dylan for supporting BHF Cymru.”
