Bin collections in Llanelli will change during the Easter holidays.

From Friday, March 29 until Friday, April 5, collections will take place one day later than usual.

For example, if your collection is due on Friday it would not be picked up until Saturday.

Recycling centres in Trostre (Llanelli), Wernddu (Ammanford), Nantycaws (Carmarthen) and Whitland will be open as usual, but Llangadog will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Carmarthenshire Council also reminded people to use blue bags to recycle over Easter.

Executive Board Member for Street Scene, Councillor Colin Evans, said: “It is important we try and recycle as much as we can but also reduce the amount of rubbish we produce in the first place.

“Not only do we have recycling targets to meet but we have to reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill.

"Not only is it bad for the environment but if we don’t meet our targets, we could also get fined.”

Residents can also sign up to the council’s text messaging or email alert service for news and information about refuse / recycling collections.

Text ‘sign up’ to 07892 345678 or email direct@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
