"He has been an absolute revelation," said manager Mark Aizlewood.
"Our initial idea was to have him as a fringe player in the squad so that is why he only had three substitute appearances early on.
"Once injuries and suspensions took hold we had to play him and he has been an ever-present since then."
In his 24 full league and cup appearances, Thomas has hit the back of the net 21 times and displayed his pace and growing ability.
A Welsh Premier League statement read: "Liam Thomas has created a big impression at Carmarthen Town this season.
"Town rate Thomas highly and have put him on contract because Mark Aizlewood expects bigger clubs to come knocking on their door."
