CARMARTHEN Quins saw their Welsh Premiership play-off hopes hit by a 30-15 defeat to league leaders Pontypridd on Wednesday.

The Quins went ahead through a Jack Maynard penalty, but that lead lasted just eight minutes.

Craig Locke crashed over for a try that Dai Flanagan converted before Gareth James, Gavin Darcy and Huw Lowden also crossed.

Flanagan added another conversion and kicked a penalty, while the Quins scored through tries from Dylan Morgan and Ian Jones as well as a Maynard penalty.
