Cardiff's Steven Caulker can't wait for Swansea City reunion
STEVEN Caulker has admitted Sunday will be "special" as he looks to help Cardiff City put one over their arch rivals.
The man who spent a year on loan at the Liberty will face his former club when Swansea travel for the South Wales derby this weekend.
Caulker was a big hit in SA1 where he formed a solid defensive partnership with Ashley Williams.
But this time he will be aiming to keep Swansea out at the Cardiff City Stadium.
"I loved it in South Wales last time around and the people are great," said the centre-back.
"I can't wait for the derby — it's going to be special. This is a massive match.
"As soon as the move to Cardiff came up I was excited to come back to Wales — and these big matches are exactly what I want to be playing in.
"I have one eye on the World Cup, of course. Joining Cardiff was a move designed to aid my England hopes — and matches like this one against Swansea will generate huge interest."
Caulker was a regular in his season at Swansea and made 28 appearances for Spurs last term.
But last summer Cardiff signed him in a shock £8 million deal.
"I believe I have developed as a player over the last couple of years and am still working to improve my game all the time under the guidance of Malky Mackay and his coaches," added the 21-year-old.
