Captain Beany turns soup-a-hero for day
HE first hit the headlines when he took a dip in a bath of baked beans 25 years ago — but now Captain Beany is to become a different soup-a-hero.
The Port Talbot fundraiser will be ditching his trademark orange colour by bathing in a bath of tomato soup for the British Heart Foundation's (BHF) Red for Heart campaign.

The caped crusader hopes love will be in the air for his latest saucy challenge as he will be completing it on St Valentine's Day at the Aberafan Shopping Centre.
But there will be a serious side to his latest wacky stunt as he will be reflecting on the tragic loss of his brother, Peter Kirk, to cardiomyopathy in 2000, at the age of just 37.
"Anything to promote the foundation I will do as it is close to my heart due to my late brother," he said.
"Hopefully on the day we are going to get a good response.
"I'm going to buy some flippers for it and I will be wearing my orange costume.
"But I will be painted red and have a British Heart Foundation T-shirt on.
"Hopefully we will raise awareness of the charity and raise some money as well."
Captain Beany will be taking the plunge at 11am.
