Cannabis possession woman appears in court
A WOMAN found in a police station with cannabis has appeared in court.
Tara Mainwaring, aged 28, admitted possessing the class B drug.
Mainwaring, of Rhodfar Brain in Ravenhill, had been arrested for another matter when she was taken into custody at Cockett police station.
As she was searched the drugs were found on her and she confirmed she had bought the drugs for £15 and intended to use them herself.
Dan Griffiths, for Mainwaring, asked city magistrates to allow an existing conditional discharge to be allowed to run its course.
"She wasn't going to share it or sell it to a third party. She has learned her lesson," he said.
Magistrates fined her £60, told her to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £50 in costs.
