Campaign group to speak up
A DELEGATION from a Welsh language campaign group will give evidence to a committee next week.
Carmarthenshire Council's Census Task Group is set to meet on Wednesday, September 4, and hear from Cymdeithas yr Iaith.
They will tell the council there needs to be a total change of course in policies if the Welsh language is to thrive in the county and present a set of calls to the committee.
The Census Task Group was established by the council to draw up a strategy following the publication of census figures which showed a serious decline in the percentage of Welsh speakers living in the county.
The meeting will take place at 2pm at the council offices.
