Calzaghe cooks up a defeat!
HE is used to fighting in the ring.
But Welsh boxing hero Joe Calzaghe still found the going tough in the BBC's Masterchef competition.
The former world champion was kicked off the hit show last week after his culinary skills failed to impress judges Greg Wallace and John Troode.
The 43-year-old said: "I just didn't realise how nerve-wracking it would be.
"What the BBC didn't show was the judges eating every bit of my pasta meal.
"They couldn't get enough of it.
"But I've got to say I went on the show because I haven't done much cooking despite my Sardinian background and I wanted to learn.
"I certainly did that and I think it's going to inspire me to do a lot more of my own cooking."
Other celebrities vying for this year's title include cricketer Matthew Hoggard, comic Les Dennis, writer and broadcaster Janet Street-Porter, and comedian Katy Brand.
