This is SouthWales

I'VE made a mistake. I've made plenty before now. From thinking that it was okay to drink my body weight in free wine at a Christmas party and having to be carried home by my very understanding fiancee, to accepting a lift home on a drunken night out from a bloke who wanted more than a thank-you to compensate him for his petrol.

Thankfully my latest mistake didn't mean me having to jump out of a car going over Loughor bridge in the early hours of the morning. But it is still giving me a headache.

I thought that once we'd agreed on a church and a venue, the rest of the wedding would slide into place quite easily. No such luck.

Having finally decided on the King Arthur in Reynoldston as our venue, a decision that took many months because of my fussiness, I am now faced with dozens more matters that we need to decide on. I have been thrown into a world full of photographers, bands, videographers and other wedding related individuals who are all vital to the big day, but I find that I've landed awkwardly, sprained my ankle and been left on my bum dazed and confused.

I know that we have to have all of the above and more, admittedly I will miss the kidney I'll have to sell on eBay to pay for them, but just who do you find to fill such important roles? Luckily, being a journalist I've easy access to a wealth of photographic talent. But where do you turn to find a good wedding car service?

I asked a colleague, who is getting married shortly, where he was getting his car from for his big day? Sadly he had managed to persuade his bride to get married at the venue and so didn't need a car or post an organ on eBay.

How am I supposed to know how much is a fair price to hire a car to take your bride-to-be to the church? I know that a cab from Uplands to the city centre will cost around four quid, but I don't think that's quite the entrance that Lucy is looking for.

I've been similarly stumped when it comes to finding a band for the wedding.

So what's a groom to do? Then I had an epiphany. There must be at least a dozen or so people who read my column (hi mum) so why not call on their vast wealth of knowledge and experience.

So if you know of anyone good , then drop me an email at groomwithaview@sky.com and I, and my bride-to-be, will be eternally grateful.
