The television stars were in the city to film part of the BBC's Christmas special of Doctor Who, and their crew took over part of the cafe for their set for the day.
The Luporini family, who have ran the cafe for many years, and other staff got to meet the stars of the show and got a sneak peak at the filming for David Tennant's last outing as the eponymous Doctor.

Caroline Thomas, aged 50, who works in the kitchen at the Kardomah, said: "We knew they were filming Doctor Who but we had no idea which actors would arrive, so everyone was so excited when David Tennant walked in.
"And then later on Catherine Tate turned up too and I thought, wow! I couldn't believe it."

“Seems as though the Kardomah Cafe and the Doctor Who cast were stuck in the same 'Time Warp'! Any chance of seeing Dylan Thomas 'co-star'!?”
