Bynea Under-14s recover from poor start to share spoils
BYNEA Under-14s welcomed Gowerton and battled to a well-earned draw.
Bynea conceded two tries within the first five minutes from defensive mistakes.
Bynea were up against it, but some excellent handling skills saw Tom Lewis go over for Bynea's first try.
Jamie Edwards then picked up a loose ball to cross for Bynea's second and after a touchline conversion by Bynea's lively fly-half Tom Evans it was all to play for.
Gowerton crossed for a third try to give them a little cushion.
In the second half Gowerton again crossed for two early tries, but in the move of the game Tom Evans took a tap-penalty and the ball moved through the hands to right wing Ben Grant who drew the full-back and gave a timely pass to Joe Roberts to score under the posts on his debut.
After some lovely play from Bynea's backs, Lewis went over for his second, and Bynea were one score away.
After some fine play from Bynea's backs and forwards, Kieron Hughes scored and with Tom Evans adding the conversion it was all square.
Gowerton pressed hard in the last five minutes, but Bynea managed to hold out for a draw.
