Bus firm has to be flexible
AT Swansea's Council meeting on January 17, a group of opposition councillors questioned the logic of the Assembly's decision to purchase Cardiff Airport, whilst at the same time reducing grants affecting bus services in Swansea.
May I suggest First Cymru put into service buses leaving their depot and returning to it empty. This is unprofitable and could assist commuters and the travelling public generally.
Combining two or more destinations in the same area at night could raise additional revenue without greatly increasing costs.
Swansea residents need Sunday services too; it will help trade in the city, people making hospital visits, and provide transport for tourists and supporters trying to reach the Liberty Stadium.

Finally, Morfa sidings could be utilised to operate a shuttle service to a station on the heart of Wales line, journeying via High Street, Gowerton and Llanelli. The Welsh government may be prepared to consider this option.
First Cymru must be more imaginative, for without a vibrant integrated transport system, inward investment is unlikely.

“It's telling that Mr. Davies puts the onus on a private company to provide us with "integrated transport". The onus should be on the Welsh Government to provide a decent, integrated transport system. They couldn't find £8 million to retain the existing level of bus service for the WHOLE of Wales, yet they managed to find £3 million to build a car park in the middle of Swansea. So who's lacking in imagination here?
Mr. Davies should be calling on the Welsh Government to create and support a publicly owned and funded bus service. But then, Labour sold it's soul to privatism and Thatcherism a long time ago.”
