Burglars raid two Swansea properties while owners are asleep upstairs

BURGLARS have struck at two properties while the owners were asleep upstairs.

The break-ins happened in the Ravenhill Road area of Swansea.

The first happened sometime between 10.40am on Saturday and 5.30am on Sunday at 105 Ravenhill Road, when a quantity of cash and a mobile phone were stolen. The occupant at the time of the incident was asleep in bed.

The occupants of 83 Ravenhill Road were also asleep when their house was burgled some time between 12.15am and 9.20am on Sunday.

Credit cards, a driving licence, a black leather hand bag and brown leather purse were stolen.

Attempts were made later using a credit card stolen from the burglary at 83 Ravenhill Road to with withdraw money from a cash point machine at the Spar Shop in Carmarthen Road, Fforestfach.

South Wales Police have said they are linking the two burglaries

Acting Detective Inspector Keith Morgan sai:d "These two burglaries have happened approximately one hundred yards apart and within a short period of time of each other, and it is for these reasons amongst others that we are linking them"

"I would appeal to anyone with information either on the burglaries or who can recall anybody attempting to withdraw cash at the Spar in Carmarthen Road, Fforestfach, to come forward."
