Brynaman man's body recovered from River Aman, near Ammanford

THE body of a 25-year-old man has been pulled from a river in the Amman Valley.

Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that the man's body was recovered from the River Aman on Thursday morning.

The man, from the Brynaman area, was seen to enter the river at the bridge near Brynaman RFC at around 3.45am Thursday.

A full scale search and rescue operation was launched involving Dyfed-Powys Police, Mid and West Wales Fire and Recsue, Brecon Mountain Rescue, Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team and the helicopter from RAF Chivenor.

The body was found shortly before 8am near the Nant Gwyn Bridge further down stream.

His family and the coroner for Carmarthenshire have been informed.
