A QUARTET of nine and 10-year-old musicians have become the latest Penclawdd Brass Band junior section recruits. Elouise Denny, 9, and twins Jessica and Emily Lewis, 10, play the cornet, while Ellie Carlsen, 10, plays the baritone horn. The foursome, who attend Gowerton Primary School, took part in a brass solo and ensemble festival last Saturday, arranged by Burry Port Brass Band.

They received plenty of plaudits for their performances.

And Penclawdd Brass Band founder and musical director Tony Small was so impressed he invited them to take part in the band's annual concert on Saturday at Tabernacle Chapel, Penclawdd, at 7.15pm. The concert will also feature Dunvant Male Choir.
