BRENDAN Rodgers had paid tribute to the three players who left Swansea City last month.

Craig Beattie, Tom Butler and David Cotterill were all released after having their Liberty contracts paid up.

The trio are now on the lookout for new clubs and Rodgers has backed them for future success.

"I'd just like to place on record a massive thank you," said the Swansea boss. "They may not have played as much as they wanted to, but they made a valuable contribution in one way or another to our success."

Butler revealed he is contemplating a move to play in Australia, while Cotterill is rumoured to be interesting Watford and Reading.

Craig Beattie has been linked to Kenny Jackett's Millwall.

"It's unfortunate that his injury meant Tommy never made an appearance for me," said Rodgers.

"Certainly I'd like to wish him all the very best. Dave Cotterill was a player that started very well for me, but because of the form of others and the change of system, he found himself out of the team.

"I'm sure that, similar to Scott Sinclair, once he gets a home he'll show all his qualities and get into the Welsh national team. Craig Beattie made valuable contributions by scoring at Middlesbrough and Ipswich and at the Liberty against Millwall.

"For anyone out there who is thinking Craig Beattie is someone who is always injured, for the last 18 months he has been available for nearly every training session and every game. He will be a great acquisition for any club if they want a goalscorer."
