When WILL you understand? Wind energy cannot replace ANYTHING because the wind does not blow all the time...or it is too strong at other times.
ZILCH ELECTRICITY [ near enough] is produced by wind turbines when the wind is below 12 mph or above about 52 mph.....and remember, it can GUST to 52 mph when the average speed is 45 mph.

I am not against wind turbines JUST in my vicinity ! I am against WIND ENERGY..... FULL STOP...because it is USELESS and CANNOT close ONE fossil fuel power station because the wind goes AWOL frequently...without too much notice !

I have never been threatened with wind turbines ANYWHERE within 17 miles of my Welsh home........yet I have fought these useless monstrosities for 15 YEARS ......EVERY WEEK !
Don't you know ANYTHING about electricity production?
[1] Wales uses 2000MW in TOTAL , yet generates OVER 5000MW without counting ONE wind turbine !!
Pembroke gas-fired power station generates 2000MW , so it could...in theory....POWER WALES ON ITS OWN !
Of course, we have 1500MW at Aberthaw and 1000MW at Wylfa.....plus more at Deeside [ 2 gas power stations]; Baglan and Uskmouth.
THESE POWER STATIONS.......AND EVERY SINGLE WIND TURBINE IN WALES......ARE POWERING ENGLAND, NOT WALES !! How can they be powering Wales when we ONLY USE 2000MW !
The Duke of Beaufort OWNS 75 SQ MILES OF THE COTSWOLDS....as big as the GOWER PENINSULA......YET HE DOES NOT HAVE ONE WIND TURBINE THERE !! YET, TO COLLECT MILLIONS IN HUGE SUBSIDIES [THAT'S ALL IT'S ABOUT !!!!!!!] HE WANTS TO RUIN THE SWANSEA AREA WITH GIANT TURBINES ON MYNYDD Y GWAIR , THAT WILL RUIN THE TV RECEPTION OF SOME.
THERE WOULD BE A FURORE IF THE DUKE TRIED TO PUT ONE 150 FT TURBINE AT HOME IN THE COTSWOLDS.......LET ALONE A COUPLE OF DOZEN 400 FT ONES !!

As for "CANDLES" !!! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND CHEMISTRY [ WHICH I STUDIED AT A LEVEL] ?
CANDLES PRODUCE CO2 .......SO IN THE IDIOT WORLD OF "EVIL CARBON"......CANDLES WOULD HAVE TO BE BANNED.......ALONG WITH OIL LAMPS !! BOTH ARE BIG CARBON DIOXIDE PRODUCERS !!

WE CAN ONLY HAVE RELIABLE ELECTRICITY FROM GAS AND COAL.....AND GAS PRODUCES LESS CO2 THAN COAL ..........BUT GERMANY, CHINA AND INDIA ARE TURNING TO FILTHY COAL [LIGNITE ETC] BIG STYLE !! THEY ARE OPENING NEW COAL POWER STATIONS ALMOST EVERY WEEK !!

.......AND...THE WORLD POPULATION INCREASES BY THAT OF WALES [ 3 MILLION]....EVERY FORTNIGHT !!!....SO FAT LOT THE ARTS GRADUATE DILETTANTES OF THE WELSH ASSEMBLY ARE GOING TO ACHIEVE WITH THEIR CLUELESS MARTYRDOM....[FOR WALES......NOT FOR THEMSELVES !! THEY HYPOCRITICALLY JET AND DRIVE EVERYWHERE !!! ]

BUT OF COURSE......NONE OF THE 2000 WILL GENERATE ANYTHING UNDER HIGH PRESSURE.........BECAUSE THERE IS NO WIND UNDER HIGH PRESSURE........SO YOU MUST KEEP THAT GAS-FIRED POWER STATION GOING !!!!

SO, WHERE IS THE GAIN FROM WIND TURBINES ?
ONE HAS THE SAME OVERHEADS FOR THE GAS FIRED POWER STATION.... , INC LABOUR COSTS.......WIND OR NO WIND !!

OF COURSE.......WALES WILL NOT BENEFITING FROM WELSH WIND TURBINES ANYWAY !!

UP TO 700 MONSTERS THE SIZE OF BLACKPOOL TOWER ACROSS GLORIOUS MONTGOMERYSHIRE [ ONLY 790 SQUARE MILES IN AREA ] ARE ONLY BEING BUILT THERE TO POWER MANCHESTER !!

THERE WILL BE 250 ft PYLONS TAKING ELECTRICITY FROM POWYS ACROSS SHROPSHIRE......WHERE THERE IS NOT A SINGLE WIND TURBINE !!

You are quite right in what you say. There is another important issue here. If one examines OS maps or atlases one finds that the tops of these wind turbines,which will all be 126.5 metres ,or 415 feet ,in height, will be taller than any of the hills within several miles radius. They will be higher above sea level than Farteg Hill [354 metres ] , Mynydd Margam , Mynydd Allt-y-Grug [339 metres] etc. Is that surprising ? After all , structures 126.5 metres tall are being placed on top of a mountain called Mynydd March Hywel. Therefore, it seems common sense that these wind turbines are going to be extremely dangerous to :-
[a] Mountain rescue helicopters ,especially with Right to Roam on these hills.
[b] Police helicopters in a very busy Swansea and Valleys region, where there is a high population.
[c] Even more important......Air Ambulances traveling on emergencies to nearby Morriston Hospital and Singleton Hospital.
These revolving wind turbines will have massive blades and thick mist descends within minutes on these hills,so they pose a real danger. It will be even worse if wind turbines go ahead on nearby Mynydd y Gwair , which is barely 5 miles......as the helicopter flies....from Mynydd March Hywel. Don't forget , they are already erecting wind turbines on Mynydd y Betws, the next hill north from Mynydd y Gwair. To make the situation even more dangerous, dozens of 475 ft high wind turbines are proposed on nearby Pen y Cymoedd under TAN 8. That is the vast zone from Vale of Neath to Aberdare. If all of these go ahead, that region from Swansea to Aberdare will soon look like one giant wind farm , with very few spaces in between. Awel Aman Tawe are even trying to put turbines on Pen Rhiwfawr , north of Pontardawe. It is ludicrous ! None of these wind farms will supply Wales with electricity ! How can they when Pembroke Gas-fired power station generates 2000MW and Wales only uses 2000MW ? Of course, we already have Aberthaw generating 1500MW and other power stations at Baglan and Uskmouth. We are already supplying England with electricity from South Wales. These wind farms are completely surplus to Welsh needs......and the people of Wales need to say so to our politicians, councillors and Press.
When all these wind turbines are lit up.....as they must......South Wales is going to look like a giant fairground at night. I hope you realise that the lights will then attract moths and flying insects, which will attract small birds, owls , rare bats , buzzards, peregrines , sparrowhawks , kestrels and red kites, to be guillotined to death by the plethora of revolving blades in the region.
Furthermore, the racket, within 2 miles of each of these wind turbines, will be horrendous. There will be a "thumping" noise as each blade passes the tower and a "whooshing " noise as they revolve. A friend of mine in Pencader can hear the Alltwalis turbines from 3 miles away, if the wind is blowing towards him at night. People within a mile of the Alltwalis turbines are suffering stress through sleep deprivation. People in Rhos , near Pontardawe.....and in outlying farms and cottages ...are going to suffer a similar fate, because these wind turbines are MUCH bigger than those at Alltwalis.
The people who live in this area need to OBJECT OFFICIALLY TO MYNYDD MARCHYWEL WIND FARM, today , please, because it is the final few days for objections.
Write to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council Planning Dept and register an OBJECTION ASAP. The address is on the internet.You can write by Email or Royal Mail.
People nearby are also going to suffer inaudible INFRASOUND, which causes severe head-aches to some people. Plus there will be TV DISRUPTION AS MORE AND MORE WIND TURBINES ARE ERECTED ACROSS THE AREA !! Also, property values will plummet ! Who wants to live within 3 miles of these monsters? Any novelty will soon wear off, I can assure you.”
