SWANSEA singer Shaheen Jafargholi is eight to one to win Britain's Got Talent.

He is being tipped by some as a potential rival for the title for internet sensation Susan Boyle.

The 12-year-old from Swansea staked his claim to the crown with a rendition of the Motown classic Who's Loving You, previously sung by The Jackson Five, among others, during the auditions.

The third of five semi-finals to be broadcast on ITV1 also includes dancers Ben and Becky, MD Showgroup, The Barrow Boys and Stavros Flatly.

Other acts include Floral Highnotes, Harmony and human saxophone Kayode Oresanya.

Last night, street dancers Flawless made it through to the finals, joined by 17-year-old Shaun Smith on the judges' vote.

They will join Boyle and Diversity in Saturday's grand final.

DJ Talent, surrounded by bikini-clad women and sitting on a throne for his performance, failed to make it through last night.

Bookies William Hill have put Boyle the 4/7 favourite, and are offering 6/1 for young dancer Aidan Davis, 8/1 for Flawless, 8/1 for Jafargholi, 10/1 for Diversity and 14/1 for Smith.

ITV has set aside around a week's worth of prime time broadcasting for the final stages of this year's show, an antidote to doom-and-gloom headlines.

The programme has pulled in big viewing figures, and has already propelled the likes of Boyle to global recognition.

A huge peak of 13.6 million viewers — 54 per cent of the audience — watched Boyle make it though to the final along with dance group Diversity.

In the midst of a recession, the timing could not be better. ITV, along with other commercial broadcasters, has been affected by falling advertising revenues as well as a plethora of new digital channels.

More than 60 million people have viewed Boyle's Britain's Got Talent audition on YouTube, while well over a million have watched her semi-final performance on the website.

The Scottish star has also attracted Stateside endorsement from Demi Moore, and appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show — accompanied by subtitles.

Singing schoolgirl Faryl Smith, a finalist from last year, will close tonight's live semi-final with a performance of Amazing Grace, accompanied by a 24-piece gospel choir and band.

Since finishing fourth on the show last May, the 13-year-old star has signed a £2.3 million record deal.

Her debut album Faryl made UK chart history by becoming the fastest-selling solo classical debut of all time, and went gold within one week of release.

Success for many of this year's contestants has had its downsides.

Ashley Banjo, aged 20, part of 11-strong street dance group Diversity, said it was hard to find time for his love life in the midst of the band's success.

He told Reveal magazine: "It's really hard for all of Diversity to find time for girlfriends.

"Every spare minute is taken up with dancing, choreography or studying, so there isn't much time left for having a good time and going out.

"There aren't enough days in the week."

In an interview previously posted on the ITV website, 48-year-old Boyle said she was "looking forward" to competing in the final.

She said: "I'm really looking forward to the final, I'm really looking forward to giving an improved act.

"I'm not 100 per cent sure that I can get through because anything can happen, but I'm going to do the best I can because I really want this moment to be a good moment. I want to really fulfil this dream and see it through to the end."

“I don't think he should have got through myself as he had already been semi pro. this is for new talent not talent that has already been spotted give others a chance, same goes for flawless.”
