Bonfire Night set to go with a bang
A SLEW of fireworks displays are expected to go with a bang, with some sparkling events lined up.
TV talent show faces are set to add something extra to the events too, with Joe McElderry, from Popstar to Operastar, performing at the main Swansea show at St Helen's Rugby Ground, from 6.30pm on Monday.
Only Boys Aloud and Port Talbot dance group Nu Sxool — who came third in Britain's Got Talent this year — will join the singer.
At Dunvant RFC the fiery action unfolds on Friday with the gates opening at 6pm and the display kicking off at 7.15pm, and all money raised going towards junior rugby.
Reynoldston's King Arthur Hotel's firework display lights the touch paper on Monday with a barbecue and outside bar open from 6pm and the display starting at 7pm.
Meanwhile, X Factor winner Matt Cardle will bring extra sparkle to Carmarthen on Bonfire Night, performing at the celebration at Carmarthen Park.
Llanelli welcomes another bright spark to its fireworks night celebrations with Frances Wood, from BBC's The Voice show, performing at the Parc y Scarlets display on Sunday.
And over at Bynea's Gate Park there will be a full family day on Saturday.
Meanwhile, emergency services are promoting firework safety with their Be A Nice Guy campaign this Hallowe'en and Bonfire Night.
They have been visiting schools and community groups in South Wales to try to cut accidents and antisocial behaviour during the holidays.
