Bird in Hand pub worth two flats at a push
THE Bird in Hand might be worth two flats at a push, if new plans are approved by Swansea Council.
The owner of the Morriston pub, Ms P Davies, has applied to the authority to convert the ground floor of the premises into two one-bedroom flats and retain the two-bedroom flat upstairs.
The Clase Road pub lies on the edge of the Morriston Conservation Area.
According to documents submitted as part of the planning application, the pub closed on April 5 this year and was marketed without success.
Ms Davies said converting the pub into two flats would not significantly impact on car parking or highway safety in the area. One car parking space would be provided for each ground floor flat.
The plans will now be assessed by city planners.
