DAN Biggar has warned that the Ospreys will need to steel themselves when they take the field at Ravenhill this evening.

Biggar is one of only five survivors from the team that won the Magners League final in May and he acknowledges that Ulster will provide the region with a searching challenge.

"It will be tough," said Biggar.

"We have a decent record at Ravenhill, but we are professional enough to know that past results count for nothing and are expecting a very difficult evening.

"They've made a few key signings over the summer, it's the first weekend of the season and they'll be fired up to get a good start.

"They'll have a passionate crowd right behind them as always, so I've no doubt it's going to be testing. We know that we'll have to be firing on all cylinders from the first whistle to get anything."
