Big Ospreys crowds will make a 'huge difference'
MIKE Cuddy believes the prospect of bigger crowds at the Ospreys in the coming season will make a "huge difference" to the region.
The Ospreys averaged gates of just 7,686 in the regular Pro12 campaign in 2011-12. And in Europe they averaged only 6,747 for their three games.
But in the new season crowds are set to jump significantly after the success of the region's cut-price ticket deals.
And managing director Cuddy hopes the increased support will have a positive effect on the players and performances.

"The one thing that makes a huge difference to every player is crowd backing," said Cuddy. "You see that in interviews with the likes of Ryan Jones. He and others are regularly quoted saying how much playing in front of big crowds means to them.
"If everyone comes along in the new season, it will be massive for the team."
The Ospreys have shed players from their title-winning team, but Cuddy is optimistic for the campaign ahead. "There is still a good squad here," he said.

“Visited Eden Park on a family holiday to New Zealand and watched bottom of the table "Blues". Fantastic experience and value for money. Why??
Entrance for "General seats", i.e. behind posts and in the four corners of the ground, cost £10 adult, £5 for children, free Blues club flags for the everyone.
Lucky numbers before the game where people could win up to £50 in club shop or sponsor vouchers, 9 prizes to be won.
Ticket offer 1 adult and 1 child for 4 matches, cost £60.
1,700 mini rugby balls thrown to the crowd.
And finally, if you had a match ticket bought before the game free bus or train journey to the game and home again.
As I said the "Blues" were bottom of the Super 14 league, no wins but still attracted 15,000 to the game.
We could learn so much about marketing from these guys.”
