Big Heart card campaign getting hearty response
THE Big Heart of Swansea campaign has become the talk of the city.
Bargain-hunting shoppers have been eagerly trying to find out what the new initiative means.
There have already been thousands of hits on www.bigheartofswansea.co.uk and people have been flocking to the city centre management office next to Wilkinson to try and get their hands on the new card.
Lisa Wells, city centre manager, said she was pleased with the response so far.
She said: "The last Premier City Centre loyalty card we had was absolutely great, but the new card is building on the foundation and we are taking it up a gear.
"The red and white card really stands out. The heart represents the core of Swansea and it is truly representative of the characteristics of the city centre, including the Sail Bridge, Swansea Market, shopping bags, knives and forks, along with a champagne flute to represent the various places to eat and drink.
"We have 100-plus offers: that is the starting point and we can really build upon that."
She added: "The billboard campaign started a couple of weeks ago as a teaser and the number of hits we have had on the Big Heart of Swansea website has been in the thousands."
She revealed there would be an array of offers available including 50 per cent off food at Peppermint, 20 per cent discount at Brian Brown Salon in Swansea, 15 per cent off on all the own labels at Health and Herbs in Picton Arcade and 10 per cent off everything in Wilkinson.
Mrs Wells said: "There are so many offers — we have offers for mums to take their children out and about in the city centre and on different types of businesses.
"The whole rationale behind this campaign is about getting more shoppers into the city centre and promoting everything it has to offer.
"Swansea is the regional capital of South West Wales and the loyalty card reflects the broad range of the city centre."
Mrs Wells said the offers would be changing on a regular basis.
"We have 240 shops in Swansea and we have 107 traders in Swansea Market — it's Wales's biggest indoor market.
"The offers on the loyalty card are going to be changing almost every single day."
