Bethan Jenkins AM reinstated by Plaid Cymru after drink driving conviction
AN Assembly Member who was caught drink driving has been reinstated by her party.
Neath-based Bethan Jenkins was suspended from Plaid Cymru after she was stopped by police in October after officers saw her driving erratically.

At Cardiff Magistrates' Court last month she pleaded guilty and was banned from getting behind the wheel for 20 months.
The court heard that a blood test gave a reading of 194 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80.

The chair of the Plaid Cymru Assembly group, Alun Ffred Jones, said Miss Jenkins's suspension had now ended.
"Bethan has apologised publicly and this morning has apologised in full to Plaid Cymru AMs," he said.
"Her suspension from the Assembly group has been lifted and she is a full member again.
"The group's disciplinary process has now ended."

“Many people suffer with depression, but they do not use it an excuse to go driving at Twice the legal limit. Any normal joe bloggs would have been sacked from their job when they told their boss they have been Caught drink driving, but not this AM. She is in a high profile government job that is obviously immune to public opinion. She should have been dismissed instantly, and replaced. I hope the Neath electorate for PC remember this when they are asked to put an X in the box next time. it's unbelievable.”
