A CAT was found beheaded and skinned in a lane, the RSPCA said today.

The cat's body was discovered near Maple Terrace in Abercwmboi, near Aberdare, with its head located 50 yards further along the lane.

A vet who examined the cat's corpse ruled out the possibility it had been skinned by another animal.

Local resident Tina Heath made the grim discovery while walking her dog on bank holiday Monday, May 25. It is believed the cat was dumped there the previous day.

She said: "It's disgusting, sick, that someone could do this to a defenceless animal.

"It upset me so much that I thought about it all night."

RSPCA inspector Julie Fadden said: "It is likely that this poor cat suffered the most appalling and barbaric death.

"It's vital that we discover what happened to this poor animal and I'd urge anyone with information to contact us.

"This lane is quite busy, and is used by motorists and pedestrians alike, so it's possible that a member of the public may have seen someone behaving suspiciously in this lane, especially on May 25."

Anyone who may have information about the incident is urged to contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.

“How can some people say if we talk about punishemnt to a saddist and brutal murdere , we are same as the murderer, do not you have punishments for killing a human being, then why this exuse in a animal's case, sin, even by god's law of karma is punished, and we are not at all same as the saddist sinner ....he punished a innocent and we are wanting to punish a guilty thereby maintaining justice.

So stop your ridiculous psedo preachings, if it was you or someone from your family, i am sure , you would talk differently. We have all laws for criem against human beings, but nothign when its with a poor animal and we let the horrible hellish sinners go with such misleading and baseless talks. The sinner, if any, and all animal torturers deserve the harshest punishment ever possible, so that they know , how it feels when it comes to one's own self.

I pray the cat's soul rest in peace and she and gets happy rebirth and rebirths and all the animals are happy and safe and may lord protect them and punish the criminals”

“Sickening. I hope those who did this get tortured. I really don't agree with someone's comment on here that 'it makes us as bad as them if we condemn'. I really hope whoever did this dies a slow painful sick death! How's that for condemning!”

“I agree this is horrific and sickening, I hope the peolpe who did this live long healthy lives and have the time to see the suffering and pain they caused this poor animal. But heres a thought for all those who wish those responsible to suffer slow horrific deaths or long painfull illnesses, that makes you no better than those you condemn.”

“This is horrific, I feel sick that someone could do this to what was probably a friendly, trusting family pet.
You can only reason with the reasonable, and unfortunately violence is the only language some people understand - an absolute belting before this monster moves on to another animal or even perhaps a person.
So never mind bringing back the birch - I'd give the owners of this cat two minutes with this sub-human and you can bet he wouldn't be hurting anything else in a hurry.”

“Disgusting and vile I agree, but not unlike what goes on in many abattoirs on a daily basis. How many of you are vegetarians ? I can tell you now if you think meat is humanely produced then you are totally misguided.”
