The British Open is set to be the largest single-make land-sailing event in the UK this year with more than 50 craft battling it out in close racing.
A spokesman said: "We are expecting racers from under 10 years old to over 80 and it's not just for the able-bodied.
"Because the Blokart is hand-steered, it makes it a competitive sport for people with disabilities such as paralysis, prosthetic legs or cerebral palsy."
Previous years have seen competitors coming from across Europe and even as far as New Zealand and Australia.
