PENLAN RFC's bowlers were put to the sword as Margam racked up a whopping 61-run victory in the third round of the H Sports Indoor Cricket League.

Alex McCormack (27no), Neil Williams (27no), Ryan Evans (26no) and Mark Cox (21) were all in fine nick as Margam posted a formidable 152-1.

And despite the efforts of Andrew Davies (30no), Penlan were never at the races, closing on 91-3.

Cimla held on for a seven-run victory against Gowerton, who will rue conceding a mammoth 65 extras with the ball.

It helped Cimla accumulate 112-3, with Yakoob Ali (25no) their chief run-getter. In reply, Gowerton fell just short on 105-6.

In the other match played, Tower's Phil Bendle led his side to a four-wicket win over Hafod.

Bendle hit 21 not out as Tower chased down Hafod's 64-5 in which Andrew Williams (22no) had been the mainstay. Ceri Durke took a miserly 1-9 off his two overs for Tower.
