Baby to be named after Swans legend Alan Tate
WHAT better way to show your love for the Swans than by naming your first-born son after a club legend?
That is what 25-year-old Tim Dawe from Llanelli is planning on doing after deciding with his fiancee Jade Farrow to name their newborn Tate after Swans hero Alan.

Tim Dawe and Jade Farrell who will be calling their son Tate
Electrical engineer Tim said: "I have been a massive Swans fan ever since my dad Leighton took me to watch them play Halifax Town. We decided two weeks ago to name him Tate. Jade asked me if I would like to name him after Alan.
"He is Mr Swansea really. He has been there such a long time, you couldn't imagine him playing for another club now."

And Tim has already got Tate's career path planned out for him.
He said: "He will without doubt be brought up a Swans fan and hopefully a Swans player."
After spending his youth career with Manchester United, the defender has gone onto make more than 250 appearances for the Swans in the past eight years.
Jade is due to give birth to Tate in November.

“PSS. Good luck in parenthood, just try not to jump to conclusions... especially when somebody is hoping for the best for your family.”

“Well, child's mother, why are so many of your friends against the idea of your child going down through history as the person who liberated unlimited cheap energy for the entire planet? Instead of having a go at me, I suggest you speak with your friends and family and ask why they want your child to fail in life.
PS. I never tried to judge you, or your partner. I made passing statements while hoping your child becomes something truly special. You friends need their heads examined, they do not have your child's interest to heart.”

“This is the unborn baby's mother here how dare u say that comment about u having the child's future more to heart than us. How dare u all judge us on our parenting over a name, u have no idea the kind of people we are or how good parents we intend to be. Get off your computers and take a long good look in the mirror, u seem to have a kick out of putting to parents down and bullying and unborn child (I believe name calling is seen as bullying). Now take them comments and put it where the sun dont shine, because Tim and I are going to be the best parents we can be providing the best future whatever path he chooses to follow offering advice support and guidance.”

“If as said below the man's friends and family came on here to mark down the comments, then I find it interesting that they do not want the boy or girl to be successful. Discovering commercially viable fusion power is worthy of the Noble Peace Prize... and yet I have the most negative arrows.
Oh dear, I have the child's future closer to my heart than those close to him/her.”

“Jesus people get a grip. He's callin his baby Tate (alan my cousin by the way) after who he believes is a hero and legend to the daddy and mammy to be. Hell I've got two boys and wish I'd thought of it myself as he is my hero and a true legend in Murton where he was born and raised. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and the birth of baby TATE (hehe) xxxx”

“Well Mr Dawe, if you read my original post you will see that I thought that it was not news. I still think that. I also thought that you were possibly looking for publicity for some reason. I now see that you are an illiterate, prejudiced twit.
From a personal point of view I am not interested in girlie pastimes like embroidery and soccer, my father, a man I remember with much love and happy memories brought me up to be a logical, thinking man who does not jump on mass-hysterical bandwagons. What will your son think of you when the Swans are back in the Second Division and Mr Tate is forgotten. He will be still called Spud.
Now get on the telephone and get your friends to red-arrow this post.”

“@timdawe1287:"he is my child not yours remember that cretins"
If you didn't want "cretinous" remarks then you would have been wise not to court the publicity of a local newspaper before publicly announcing your adoration of a local footballer
Personally I cant say Alan Tate to be much of a legend at all, by any stretch of the imagination - but thats just my opinion.
Ivor..., now thats a proper Swansea legends name”
