CELEBRATIONS have been held to mark Dylan Thomas's birthday.
To mark the 99th anniversary of his birth, Swansea group Afternoon in Paris have premiered their original gypsy jazz-style musical interpretation of Dylan's poem The Clown in the Moon.
They performed at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive this weekend — where the poet was born on October 27, 1914.
Geoff Haden, who runs the home as a living museum, said: "The Clown in the Moon was written in this house when Dylan was just 14 years old."
Of the landmark dates he added: "When Dylan's daughter Aeronwy open the restored house in 2008 we started the clock running again from 1914, so this year is 1919 in 5 Cwmdonkin Drive time."
At the celebration they also had special party food described by Dylan's daughter Aeronwy, with Spam sandwiches, jelly and blancmange and fizzy orange pop.
