OLYMPIC medallist Jamie Baulch was on hand to open Swansea's new 24-hour gym.

The athlete, who won a silver medal in the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta and became world champion the following year, was one of the first to try out equipment in The Gym Group's latest outlet at Princess Way.

The Swansea gym is one of 18 run by the chain which also has premises in cities from Plymouth to Glasgow and is preparing to open in Bournemouth.

A spokesman for the Gym Group said: "The Gym has all the equipment you need to achieve your goals, and if you also need help with your motivation or technique, there are nine personal trainers who can guide you."
