Ashley Williams signs new Swansea City contract
WALES captain Ashley Williams has signed a new three-year contract with Swansea City.
The 28-year-old centre-back has penned a one-year extension which will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until June 2015.

Williams, who skippers the Swans in the absence of club captain Garry Monk, joined at the end of the 2007-08 season following a successful loan spell from Stockport County.

“Can't help but feel slightly sceptical when players sign contact extensions just before a transfer window. The contracts aren't worth the paper their written on. All that they ensure us that the selling club get more money for the players dependant on how many seasons are left on the players contract .
I seem to remember rodgers signing a bumper contract months before he left. I wouldn't be at all shocked if Williams and Vorm both leave in January .”
