Ashley Williams: Swansea City's players in dreamland

ASHLEY Williams revealed Swansea City's players were in dreamland after they captured the Capital One Cup.

Michael Laudrup's men were superb at Wembley yesterday, snuffing out any threat of a giant-killing as they beat Bradford 5-0.

"This is what we all dreamed about as little boys," said Williams.

"We had a job to do and I thought we did it brilliantly.

"We knew they were a bit of a dangerous team, they'd beaten Premier League teams before. We knew we had to do our job."

He added: "The boys were really professional about it, they carried on playing and tried to score more goals."

Williams went up the Wembley steps with club captain Garry Monk and the duo lifted the trophy together.

Monk, one of the few to have played for Swansea in all four divisions, said: "In our centenary year, to do this and bring a major trophy back to the club puts the icing on the cake.

"Swansea could have actually not had a football club, that's how close it was. To be on that journey and to come to where we are now, the board deserve so much credit.

"This cup is for the club and the fans and the city itself."
