ASHLEY Williams insists Swansea City's victory over Newcastle is a sign that the club have made further progress.
There have been many landmarks since Swansea returned to the top flight 15 months ago.

But Williams reckons Saturday's 2-1 triumph at St James' Park proves Swansea are still growing as a team at the highest level.
Last year Brendan Rodgers's side celebrated after drawing 0-0 at the venue. Twelve months on Swansea went one better.
"Last year it was 0-0 and we were over the moon and we would have taken the same again beforehand," said the centre-back.
"But it shows how we've come on. We didn't outplay them because they had chances and a lot of possession but you have to accept that away from home. We stuck to our plan and our tasks and showed a mature performance to get the win."
Playing in plush surroundings, Swansea settled the better and failed to capitalise on a series of well-worked openings in the first half.
Newcastle also had chances as they looked to bounce back from a disappointing home defeat to West Ham six days earlier.
Swansea wanted to build on a draw with Southampton and take their unbeaten run to four games in all competitions.
They broke the deadlock with a pinpoint header from Michu before Jonathan de Guzman added a second goal late on.
Demba Ba hit back for Newcastle in injury time, but Swansea held on for victory.
"It was great to get a win, especially away from home and at a ground like this," said Williams.
"We knew we had a chance although them losing here last week probably made it tougher for us because they were so desperate to get the win.
"But we performed well as a team and I think it showed the progress we've made as a side."
Ba's goal two minutes into time added on did slightly take the gloss off victory for Williams. But securing three points was the most important thing as Swansea won away in the Premier League for the first time since an opening-day demolition of QPR.
"Until we scored the second we defended really well," said Williams.
"It's disappointing to have conceded because we knew they were going to come at us, but we switched off and it's so frustrating.
"Up to then, which was the majority of the game, everyone did their jobs and did them well."
