Ash charts Swans' year at the top
SWANS star Ashley Williams has put his Premier League life in print.
The Welsh captain is revealing all about his time with Swansea City and representing his country in his book My Premier League Diary.
His friend Rio Ferdinand has written the introduction to what he describes as an "excellent book, which gives a unique view into what it takes to be a successful footballer at the highest level".
In the book, Williams reveals the highs and lows of a professional footballer, from the pre-season trip to the Alps, Swansea's first Premier League game against Manchester City last year and then the revenge of beating the eventual champions at the Liberty. The book also includes a tribute to his mentor and former Wales boss, Gary Speed, and an account of his sorrow following his death.

And, reflecting on Brendan Rodgers's exit from the Swans, he says: "Brendan gave me that extra 10 or 20 per cent which meant that when the Premier League came along I didn't look out of place, and that improvement was testament to him. Thinking of it all now, I'm just happy that I had the chance to work with him."
A book signing takes place at Waterstones, Swansea, between 2pm and 4pm next Saturday.
