Ash Wales backs European Parliament vote to tackle smoking
A WELSH charity has congratulated the European Parliament on new regulations to curb smoking.
Ash Wales has praised the move to forge ahead with a revised Tobacco Products Directive.
MEPs have backed a raft of new regulations to curb smoking, ranging from bigger warnings on cigarette packs and a ban on flavourings including menthol.
But bosses voiced their disappointment that MEPs voted against bringing e-cigarettes under medicines regulation.
Ash Wales chief executive, Elen de Lacy, said they were pleased overall with the outcome of the MEP vote to up the size of health warnings on cigarettes.
