A SWANSEA Valley artist has been left with a big problem — a lack of space.

John Hensley Davies, from Craig Cefn Park, has been asked to create the largest picture of his career so far — but it is so big he does not have room for it in his Morriston studio.

The painting — a giant copy of a Dutch old master — is for an exhibition in Amsterdam, and will measure more than 32ft by 13ft.

The subject of the painting is a closely guarded secret, but the 50-year-old artist is appealing for help from somebody with plenty of spare space such as a museum, gallery, hall or warehouse, that he can use to work in.

The former Swansea College of Art student said: "The exhibition is in late October so time is running out.

"I am desperate for some help to create the worlds biggest ever masterpiece copy, and I am confident that the people of Swansea will save the day and help me out."
