ARMED police were called to a busy Swansea road yesterday afternoon.

They cordoned off a small area in Llangyfelach Road, Brynhyfryd, to deal with a man in a private property, who was later taken away. The incident happened mid-afternoon, with regulars at the Morris Arms left unable to leave the premises for a while on account of the police cordon.

A South Wales Police spokeswoman confirmed that armed officers had been deployed.

She said the incident was dealt with safely.
