Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Port Talbot.

Detectives say the woman, 38, was unhurt but left "very shaken" after two males approached her in Lake Road and pushed her into bushes nearby and tried to grab her handbag.

During a struggle the victim retained a grip on her bag and both suspects later ran off empty handed.

The incident happened at around 5.10pm yesterday evening.
