GARNFFRWD TROUT FISHERY

The fishery has been fishing exceptionally well with a number of big fish landed and an overall good average bag weight.

The fishing has been great with the distinct advantage that Garnffrwd has, with a spring fed lake, a constant flow of 11 degrees entering the lake keeping the metabolic rate of the trout up which means the fish are feeding well and fighting like demons.

Ammanford Angling Club held a competition and a good number of fish were caught and some big fish landed and returned.

Jonathan Garland had the biggest fish of the day. an 8½lb rainbow.

Top flies at the moment are cat's whisker, Gold rib hare's ear, diawl bach, hoppers and bloodworms. Some fish are still being caught on the surface.
