Angel Rangel warns Swansea City of Roberto Soldado threat
ANGEL Rangel has warned Swansea City that his fellow Spaniard Roberto Soldado will be “the man to stop” when they face Tottenham on Sunday.
Spurs broke their transfer record to sign Soldado from Valencia for £26 million earlier this summer.
The Spanish international has repaid a chunk of that fee immediately, scoring the winner in last Sunday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace and bagging a brace in Thursday’s 5-0 Europa League trouncing of Dinamo Tbilisi.
And as Soldado prepares for his first Premier League appearance at White Hart Lane this weekend, Rangel has told his Swans team-mates to be on their guard.
“He has started so well at Spurs and has scored in every game,” said Rangel.
“He has a great reputation in Spain and he is getting better and better with every season, and from what I have seen he can score from so many positions.
“He is a proper striker who was one of the best in Spain.
“Going to a different league and scoring in the first few games is going to give him a big boost and build his confidence.
“It is going to be a tough game for us because they have so many quality players. It’s not just Soldado, but he is the one who is scoring at the moment and the one to stop.”
