Roberts and Barker will now be racing for Wales's brand new Team SWI WC at UCI Track Cycling World Cups, which are the first step towards Olympic qualification for national teams, determining each country's international ranking.
The programme of racing at each Track World Cup mirrors the events at the Olympic Games, with Welsh riders looking to compete against the world's best ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Double Olympic gold medallist Geraint Thomas's former coach Darren Tudor has been named head coach of Team SWI WC, while Matt Cosgrove will be the performance director.
