Air Cadet Squadrons in all areas of South and South West Wales have started 2013 with a new campaign to actively recruit cadets and adult volunteer staff.

Squadron's parade on two evenings a week, usually from around 7pm to around 9pm.

Young people are eligible to join as an Air Cadet from the age of 13 years and 3 months or anytime until their 17th birthday. Those cadets who stay until age 20 are eligible to transfer into adult service as instructors. However, we also recruit adults of any age, who wish to be involved with one of the best youth organisations in the world (CRB checks apply to any member of the organisation aged 18+).

Volunteer staff can become Civilian Instructors, Civilian Gliding Instructors, Non-Commissioned Officers, Chaplains or Civilian Committee Members. They can also take a Commission in the Training Branch of the RAF Volunteer Reserve.

Stuart Morgan, Deputy Wing Chairman of No3 Welsh Wing, said, "We aim to produce enthusiastic and thoughtful young men and women who will strive to succeed in whatever walk of life they choose.

* To encourage a practical interest in aviation and the RAF

* To provide training that will be useful within the ATC and civilian life

* To foster a spirit of adventure while developing qualities of leadership and adventure."

"Membership of the ATC is exciting, rewarding and above all fun. You'll discover skills you never knew you had, do things and visit places you never thought you would, and meet lots of like-minded people who will become your team-mates and friends. This year the Wing are organising overseas trips to Nijmegen in The Netherlands, Gibraltar, and to Normandy."

"Cadets and adult volunteers also have the opportunity to challenge themselves with adventurous training, be selected to represent their country or school on the International Air Cadet Exchange programme, or develop their potential on the Air Cadet Leadership Course. Youngsters can really shine as a cadet."
