STEPS have been taken to ensure staff are not clogging up car parks meant for visitors and patients at Princess of Wales Hospital.

It follows concerns raised during a meeting between a Stroke Association group in Bridgend and Abertawe Bro Morgannwg (ABM) Community Health Council (CHC).

One group member said he was concerned staff members were using the public car parks, not the multi-storey car park allocated to them.

ABM University Health Board has since responded to inform the CHC that new equipment had been ordered.

A report to the CHC stated: "Car parking attendants scan registration numbers to check whether the car belongs to a member of staff or not. It will also inform them whether the car has been picked up previously. If so, a warning would have been issued, and this is followed by a fine."
