Accused in drug case
A KIDWELLY man accused of possessing cannabis resin with intent to supply has had his case sent to Crown Court.
Scott Benjamin Leitch of Ferry Road entered no plea when he appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Thursday charged with having 827 grams of the class B drug on June 7 last year.
District judge Vivian Manning-Davies, who was sitting at the court, said the offence was too serious to be dealt with by him and declined jurisdiction.
He said: "This is not suitable for summary trial, the evidence in this particular case takes it outside the category that would be in the powers of this court.
"It's my judgement that this case should go to the Crown Court."
Thirty-six-year-old Leitch has been told to return to Llanelli Magistrates' court on Thursday, March 29, for committal to Swansea Crown Court.
In the meantime, he was released on unconditional bail.
