Accidents causing major problems on M4 and A465
THERE are major problems on the roads this morning following a number of accidents.
The M4 and and A465 have both been affected by accidents thought to be due to icy surfaces.
Three vehicles were involved in a crash between junctions 42 (Earlswood roundabout and Fabian Way) and 43 (Llandarcy), causing delays.
One car was said to be on fire.
One lane of the M4 eastbound between junctions 41 (Baglan) and 42 was also closed but has since re-opened.
The A465 has been closed in both directions between Glynneath and Hirwaun and Resolven and Neath because of three separate collisions.
And the A470 has been closed southbound at Abercynon in Rhondda Cynon Taf after a crash involving 10 vehicles in icy conditions.
Cars have also been skidding on minor roads in the morning rush, with the frozen rain making life a misery for cyclists and pedestrians as well.
A dazed man with a cut to his head was being helped by a taxi driver at the city's Quadrant Shopping Centre at around 8.30am.
