Accident waiting to happen
I HAVE finally given in to the complete frustration I feel on entering and exiting junction 41 of the M4 at Port Talbot on both sides of the carriageway.
Why do other drivers persist in crawling up the slip road and then braking before entering the traffic? I can understand this when it is the usual rush hour madness, but not when the traffic is flowing freely.
On numerous occasions I have been caught behind such drivers who, by slowing down and not joining the traffic, cause the motorway traffic to slowly grind to a halt to allow them to pull out at a snail's speed.
The majority of people know that this stretch of motorway is 50mph, so why not build up to that speed when approaching, with traffic allowing, they could then join the flow and not cause back-ups.
It's an accident waiting to happen.
I would dearly love the council and powers that be to make the two hard shoulders of this area extra lanes.
This would in turn allow these drivers to maintain some speed and either join the traffic or continue on to the next exit.
