Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board to develop stroke services
A HEALTH board is looking to develop its stroke services.
Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board (ABMU) has developed its stroke services Local Delivery Plan for 2013-16, which will go before board members on Thursday.
It follows the Welsh Government publishing a plan which set out its expectations to tackle stroke, including actions.
Executive lead for stroke improvement, director of therapies and health science, Andrew Phillips, said: "We want our services to deliver outcomes for each person at risk of or who has suffered a stroke to be among the best in the world, with patient experiences that are second to none."
Acute stroke services are delivered in Morriston and Princess of Wales hospitals, which between them saw 883 admissions last year.
