ABERAVON MP Dr Hywel Francis has signed a Book of Commitment in the House of Commons and pledged his commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day.

Dr Francis said Holocaust Memorial Day gives people the chance to remember the victims of the Holocaust.

He said: "I encourage all of my Aberavon constituents in the local schools, faith groups and community organisations to join the fight against prejudice and intolerance.

"This event gave me the opportunity to pay tribute to the Holocaust Educational Trust's Outreach programme and the extraordinary Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people about what they endured."

“The Holocaust is probably the worst single event in human history, industrialised slaughter.
It can't be compared to Israel's treatment of the Palestinians these are entirely separate issues.”

“Totally agree with the fight against prejudice and intolerance but surely we should not keep recalling 60 years ago but look what is going on today in Palestine or recently Rwanda and other parts of Africa . The israeli state backed by a religous idealogy from 19th century Europecontinues to commit acts against innocent women and children which has gone on for nearly 60 years and nothing gets done .Any other leaders of a country would have to appear in front of the Hague for war crimes .FREE PALESTINE .”
